Meet Dr. Pardos
“My goal is for my clients to feel empowered by their disability! ”
Hello there! I am Dr. Jessica Pardos, CCC-SLP (she/they), an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensed in Colorado and Illinois. I am the owner and SLP of AugmentAbility Speech Therapy PLLC. I have experience working in various settings, including public schools (preschool—transition), university clinics, and acute care.
My passion for speech pathology lies in working with teenagers and adults who have a range of abilities. From stuttering to assistive technology, I love seeing my clients thrive in adolescence and adulthood. I love my job!
I received my Speech-Language Pathology Doctorate (SLPD) and Master of Science (MA) in Speech-Language and Learning from Northwestern University (Go Cats!). I got my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Speech Language and Hearing Science with a minor in Linguistics from the University of Colorado, Boulder (Sko Buffs).
My therapeutic approach is disability and neurodiverse-affirming, client-centered, and strength-based. My goal is for clients to feel empowered by their disability rather than restricted or ashamed. I approach all therapeutic interactions through an anti-racist, anti-ableist, and LGBTQ+-affirming framework.
In addition to treating clients, I love to keep up on the recent research in the science of teaching and learning. I am also a teaching assistant for Northwestner’s SLPD program.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our five pets (I know five is a lot). I also love sailing, hiking, reading, crocheting multiple projects at once, practicing yoga, and creating and collecting fidgets. My current favorite is making picky pads! Check out my Augment Blog for directions on how to make one. Keep scrolling to learn more about who I am!
Please let me know if you prefer not to see my pets during our online sessions.
